Ease Adjustable Base BySealy Versus Falcon Adjustable Base By Leggett & Platt

When comparing adjustable bases Leggett & Platt’s Falcon and the Sealy Ease go toe-to-toe pretty easily. Upon first inspection there are a few subtle differences. Leggett & Platt is missing the retention bar thanks to their new MicroHook retention system. This makes the bar of the Sealy Ease stand out a lot more. Leggett & Platt include a bar, but using it is optional.

The second observation most likely is going to be size. The Sealy Ease has a 4” platform, which will make it a bit more visible when it is put in a bed frame. Leggett & Platt’s Falcon has a compressed frame that has been pushed down to 2”. This will be visible but it is almost out of sight when paired with a bed frame. If visibility is a concern Leggett & Platt would get the points over the Sealy Ease.

Both come with wireless remotes that include multiple features. The Ease pulls ahead on this one by including a one touch flat option. This will make getting the bed back to a standard position, not necessarily quick, but easier. Sealy’s Ease also has the option of including a 9-volt battery, at an extra cost. Paired with the one touch flat option, getting the bed flat during a power outage would be possible. Leggett & Platt do not have either one of these features which gives Sealy’s East the advantage here.

Leggett & Platt fight back with the weight limit. Their limit goes all the way up to 800lbs where the Ease taps out at 650lbs. That is a significant difference when you consider the idea of kids jumping into the bed too. Leggett & Platt have also made their newest frame 30lbs lighter than the typical adjustable base.

Finally, we look at the paperwork. The warranties are quite comparable, so it would come down to what you personally would feel is more important. Sealy has better coverage on the parts, while Leggett & Platt have better coverage on the frame. Both have long warranties that are going to cover the bases for many years. Both are designed, engineered and assembled in America. At the moment the Ease is slightly cheaper in overall price.

As with most things, at the end of the day it is going to come down to personal preference and what your needs really are. If you are concerned about weight limit, then the Falcon is going to be a clear winner. If you want as many features as you can get, the Ease might be the way to go, but only slightly.

The best part of these two adjustable bases is that Sealy and Leggett & Platt are both offering adjustable bed bases with some high-end features at a price many people will be able to afford.
